Rémi Brun – Founder and CEO

Motion Capture Expert

A graduate from one of France’s prestigious engineering schools l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts & Métiers and with a PhD in Biomechanics, Rémi has put theory into practice and has always been hugely passionate about movement. With a career spanning over 20 years in motion capture, Rémi Brun is one of Europe’s pioneers in this field.  Associate Director of Actisystem in 1993 (the first mocap studio in Europe), then moving to Soho, London from 1997-2000 working with Red Alert and Centroid.  Rémi was called back to Paris in 2000 to head and develop one of the largest motion capture departments at the time at Attitude Studio.

In 2007 Rémi creates MocapLab where he takes motion capture to another level. He is the current CEO and Technical Director.

Stephanie Sidhu

Associate Director and General Manager

With a BA Honours from Manchester University, UK, Stephanie started her career in Public Relations in London at Marketing Minds Ltd and moved after two years to Advertising at Bates UK as Account Manager for BAT on the Formula 1 Sponsorship account.    In 2000, Stephanie left London to join the Diversified Agencies Group at Havas Advertising in Paris, working under the leadership of advertising veteran Jean-Michel Carlo as Information and Business Development Manager.

After a career break to have her children, Stephanie joined the startup MocapLab in 2007 and since uses her international background to develop MocapLab’s business abroad and her general managerial skills in the daily running of the company.

Aurélien Laville

R&D Director

A graduate from both the French engineering school “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers” and the German Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and holder of a PhD in Biomechanics, Aurélien has acquired advanced skills in 3D modeling and numerical simulation. With over 10 years experience in the field of virtual human modeling, he has been a key player in many important projects requiring a high scientific background (medical imaging, sport biomechanics, transportation safety, ergonomics, signing avatars, …).

Aurélien currently heads the R&D division at Mocaplab. He continually works with the team, focusing primarily on broadening the scope of the technology, while also maintaining and guaranteeing the quality and accurate restitution of the recorded movements.  He is also the privileged interlocutor with numerous important scientific partners to whom Mocaplab offers custom-made support based on its latest innovations.
